On March 12th, A Flair for Care Fashion Presentation and Luncheon, featuring summer and fall collections from fashion icon Chloé, was held in the fabulous Lafite Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. More than 400 attendees helped raise almost $500,000 for Nathan Adelson uncompensated care programs and services supporting our vision that no one ends the journey of life alone, afraid or in pain. Last year, Nathan Adelson Hospice provided more than $2.8 million in uncompensated care programs and services to individuals throughout southern Nevada.
“We are tremendously grateful for everyone who supports A Flair for Care. That generosity shows off both their ‘flair’ and their ‘care’ during this remarkable event,” said Nathan Adelson Hospice President and CEO Karen Rubel. “Our annual fashion show is an exceptional way for us to raise critical funds needed for our programs that help our patients and their loved ones in southern Nevada.”
Attendees enjoyed cocktails and a peek at silent auction items prior to the presentation, accompanied by the musical stylings of Michael Shulman. Then, the fashion models strutted eye-catching designs by Chloé and wowed the audience with a combination of beauty and style. This year also brought us four children’s designs from the summer collection, a first for A Flair for Care. The fashion presentation was clearly a big hit and the child models certainly stole the show.
Our keynote speaker, local legend Frankie Scinta, touched the audience’s hearts with a personal story about how Nathan Adelson Hospice was there for his family when his brother needed our services. A special thank you to Bryan Chan who not only emceed the event, but also stepped in as our auctioneer and did an amazing job. It was a day of food, charity, and fashionable fun for everyone.
Thank you for all the hard work put forth by event co-chairs Dena duBoef-Roth, Tami Hance-Lehr, Dawn Hume and the entire committee for making such an amazing event. Special thanks to Marilyn Spiegel and the fantastic Wynn staff who once again went above and beyond all expectations. “Wynn’s staff did an amazing job! The lunch and desserts were fantastic, support and technical staff took care of everything, and they even placed hand sanitizer stations all over the venue,” says Caleen Norrod Johnson, Executive Director, Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation.
Additional thanks to Destinations by Design for the beautiful decor, Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits for providing libations during the event, and to all the wonderful businesses and community members who contributed items to our auctions and opportunity drawings. This event would not be possible without the support of our outstanding sponsors! Thank you!
