Chief Nursing Officer
Lori Townsend currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer for Nathan Adelson Hospice. She is responsible for managing daily nursing operations to ensure all practices align with the hospice's objectives and values.
In addition, Townsend oversees the Home Care, Business Development, Admissions and Transportation departments of the organization along with actively engaging with patients and employees to support and promote the hospice’s values and mission.
With more than 32 years of diversified experience in healthcare, Townsend demonstrates exceptional leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills. A seasoned leader with a proven track record of improving quality, patient and employee satisfaction, and institutional efficiency leading to improved financial performance, Townsend is an innovator in her field. She exhibits a strong regulatory background leading organizations to achieve State designations for specialty services.
Prior to joining the hospice, Townsend held various positions including Campus Interim Chief Nursing Officer and Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Chief Nursing Officer at both Methodist Children’s Hospital and Methodist Hospital Campus in south Texas where she worked to develop programs to decrease turnover and vacancy rates, among managing daily nursing operations at the hospitals.
Townsend earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix.
